Sofia: Unified Citizens' Information System for COVID-19 established

2020. 03. 29. | Practices of local governments - worldwide

Sofia Municipality, in partnership with SAP Bulgaria, has created a unified information system for citizens' questions about COVID-19, Sofia Municipality press centre reported.

The new single point for information on COVID-19 issues is already active on the municipality's website. The system was built with the voluntary assistance of SAP Bulgaria Sofia office, an affiliate of the global software leader SAP SE in Bulgaria.

The platform is accessible through the COVID-19 page of Sofia Municipality at https://www.sofia.bg/covid-19 and provides citizens with short, accurate and up-to-date information on the main issues - what to do if we have doubts that we have been in contact with infected persons, what to do if we are elderly or disabled people, what to do if we have children, if we have returned from abroad in the recent days etc.

The system is interactive, with easy navigation to guide the users to the specific case of interest and the information is constantly updated. Its purpose is to provide the most up-to-date and useful information in one place, without the need for citizens to visit different pages of different institutions. In addition, the single point of information facilitates the gathering of feedback on the problems of the citizens of the city, what their worries are and what difficulties they experience. In addition volunteers and donors can declare their willingness for support.

Since the onset of the state of emergency, a number of technology companies have been actively proposing ideas and ready-to-implement solutions to help citizens and city management in crisis situations, the municipality informs.

Mayor of Sofia Yordanka Fandakova and the teams of Innovative Sofia and Invest Sofia are grateful to all startups and IT companies in Sofia for their willingness to help with city decisions, the press release adds.
